John, good question. Elderberries are very easy to grow and will tolerate
soil PH of 5.5-7.5. They love good organic matter and thrive with a little
TLC. They are very easy to propagate from cuttings or division. A great
project for 4-H and FFA. Let me know how I can help.

I am so happy to have found your postings at elderberries.com and, from there, this wonderful site about your company. I love the elder trees and, long ago, as a child, it was my turn for a few weeks in May-June to pick up their splendid flowers.

In the discussion at elderberries.com, where you also contributed, someone asked advice about making an essence of elderflower oil. I posted yesterday a question, but I felt that you might know much more on this subject and direct comments here would be more helpful.

I am interested in buying an essence of elderflower oil (like RoseWater, for example) to use it in drinks and deserts. Do you happen to know where could I buy now online such a product? My google search was not too revealing, so I felt I need to turn to the experts.

The St Germain reference that you gave at elderberry.com is indeed great, yet they seem to be using such an essence to flavor their own liquor. This is because the supplies are rather limited and available for just a few weeks and then the extraction process does not seem to be simple at all.

Also, since you mentioned this in your post, please tell me when and how do you supply the elderflowers? Do you freeze them, do you sell them dry, do you sell them in season? And how large is actually your elderberry farm?

And at last, related to another post herein, how long would it take to have the elder tree flowering if I start with the seeds, rather than with the roots and cuttings?

Any helpful advice on these is very much appreciated. My best wishes,

Liana
